For months, our industry was bracing first for the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) — then, later, for the end of the Continuous Enrollment Provision once it was decoupled from the PHE. Throughout, many experts predicted that the wind-down would cause some level of chaos — especially for members who many no longer qualify for Medicaid coverage, as well as those who do, but somehow fall through the administrative cracks in the redetermination process. Regrettably, it appears that some of the fears expressed by experts have come to fruition.
