Who we are

SameSky Health is a cultural experience company that removes barriers to care and forms meaningful relationships to bring people to health. We partner with health plans to advance health equity and reduce health disparities by creating personalized, culturally relevant experiences for members — guiding them to the tools, resources, and care they need. Our focus is on Medicare, Medicaid, and Exchange lines of business.

Based in North Hollywood, California, the company was founded in 2017 as ConsejoSano by Abner Mason, originally focused on reaching Spanish speakers to schedule telehealth appointments. In recognition of our expanding scope and mission, in 2022, we rebranded as SameSky Health. The name reflects the broader communities we serve, and the idea that we all live under the same sky — that we deserve equitable access to healthcare, and the opportunity to enjoy the best possible health and wellness.

Today, SameSky Health has engaged over 2.8 million members, across all 50 states and three US territories, in more than 25 different languages.

We are a multidisciplinary group of medical professionals, engineers, policy experts, engagement specialists, and health plan executives from across the globe. We believe that a deep understanding of culture can create enormous value and saving for our clients and their members.

Senior Leadership

Abner Mason

Abner Mason has spent decades working to reduce barriers to care faced by underserved people nationally and internationally, from the federal to the local level. He has served on President Bush’s Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, as Chief Policy Advisor to the Governor of Massachusetts, and as part of the Biden-Harris Campaign Policy Committee. He currently sits on the board of Manifest MedEx, serves as vice-chairman of the board of the California Black Health Network, is a member of United States of Care’s Founders Council, and the American Medical Association’s External Equity & Innovation Advisory Group. He is also the founder of Health Tech 4 Medicaid.

Phil Harker

Phil brings more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience to his role as President and Chief Operating Officer, with expertise in developing and implementing shared-risk models. Before joining SameSky Health, Phil was the President and CEO of Leavitt Risk Partners. Prior to Leavitt Risk Partners, he held leadership roles at Rally Health, UnitedHealth Group, Optum, and Deloitte and Touche Consulting Group. Phil holds an MBA from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University.

Josh Siegel

Chief Technology Officer

Josh brings almost twenty years of healthcare technology innovation to his role at SameSky Health. Prior to joining SameSky Health, Josh served as SVP of Software Engineering at Inovalon (nasdaq: INOV) for Payer and Insights business units. Prior to Inovalon, he held leadership roles at CareCloud (acquired by MTBC), and Eliza Corporation. Josh has been a speaker at AWS re:invent, GCP Next, and HIMSS.
