Health Equity Predictions 2023 Year in Review: Under the Same Sky with Dr. Chris Gibbons, founder and CEO of The Greystone Group, Inc.
At the beginning of 2023, we highlighted health equity predictions for the year from more than a dozen influential health equity leaders. For the final Under the Same Sky discussion of 2023, Abner Mason, founder and CEO of SameSky Health, met with Chris Gibbons (MD, MPH), founder and CEO of The Greystone Group, Inc. During this event, Abner and Chris reviewed those 2023 predictions, broke them into 5 different categories, and discussed where the industry is at as well as where it needs to go to advance health equity.

About Dr. Chris Gibbons, MD, MPH
Dr. Gibbons is the Founder & CEO of The Greystone Group, Inc., an equity focused digital health innovation and transformation company. At Greystone, Dr. Gibbons leads a team of Johns Hopkins trained experts who work with clients to understand, transform and thrive in the emerging digital economy. He is also the Senior Vice President for Healthcare at PS2G, Chief Health Innovation Advisor at the Federal Communications Commission’s Connect2Health Task Force and an Equity and Innovation External Advisory board member at the American Medical Association and a visiting professor at Duke University School of Medicine.
Previously Dr. Gibbons was an Associate Director of the Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Public Health and Health Informatics at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Gibbons is a Healthcare Disparities, Urban Health and Digital Health Innovation expert, a Physician Informatician and Behavioral Interventionist. Dr. Gibbons has been named a Health Disparities Scholar by the National Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Gibbons obtained his medical degree from the University of Alabama and completed residency training in Preventive Medicine, a General Surgery fellowship and molecular neuroncology basic research training all at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Gibbons also earned a Master of Public Health degree focusing on health promotion among urban and disadvantaged populations from Johns Hopkins. Finally, Dr. Gibbons completed a federal health policy fellowship at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
